Cooking Rice Chips:

Step 1: Prepare the ingredients.

The main ingredient, rice, needs to be washed several times until the water in which we rinse the cereal becomes clear. Pour water into the pan and set it to boil over high heat. To make the water boil faster, you need to salt it. We put rice in hot water and cook until tender. The proportions for cooking rice are well known - 1 glass of rice in 2 glasses of water. This is in order to get friable rice, and since we need a more sticky mass, we’ll add a little more water. Cook rice for about 20 minutes, then put the saucepan in a water bath and steam it in this way for another half hour. Rinse rice after cooking not necessary. And the onions must be washed and finely chopped, fry in a pan until transparent.

Step 2: Cook the minced meat for the meatballs.

Mix cooled rice porridge with chilled fried onions, salt and seasoning. We break the eggs, add the finely chopped greens and mix thoroughly until a homogeneous mass is obtained.

Step 3: Sculpt and fry the rice balls.

The minced meat is ready, scoop it with a tablespoon in the palm of your hand, give it the shape of a round patty and roll in breadcrumbs or flour. We spread the meatballs on a preheated pan and fry until a golden crust is obtained on both sides. Chips can not only be fried, but also, like meatballs, steamed, baked in the oven. Choose the option you like best.

Step 4: We serve ready-made rice meatballs to the table.

The meatballs need to be served hot, as an independent dish or a side dish for a meat or fish dish. Ready-made rice cues can be served with sour cream, mushroom sauce, garlic cream sauce, or any other you like. It goes well with rice salad of fresh vegetables. Enjoy your meal!

Recipe Tips:

- - Rice balls can be made vegetarian by removing an egg from the recipe.

- - If rice porridge does not thicken well, add a little flour or semolina to it and let it brew for 15-20 minutes.

- - To make rice cakes more satisfying, add boiled mushrooms, crushed in a blender, to the minced meat. Cook rice in mushroom broth - this way the taste will be more saturated.

- - This recipe is also applicable to semolina and buckwheat meatballs.

- - If you like sharper food, and this recipe seemed fresh to you, add spices.

- - If you remove the onions from the recipe, then the prepared rice cakes can be made sweet and served with jam or fruit sauce. In this case, use cinnamon or vanillin as seasoning and add sugar.
