- 9吉 inch baking dish
- Aluminum foil
In a stockpot, combine the tomatoes, tomato sauce, water, onions, peppers, garlic, parsley, seasoning mixtures, sugar and bay leaves. Bring to a boil over high heat, and then reduce the heat and let simmer, covered, for 1 hour. Crumble the ground beef in a large skillet. Cook over medium-high heat until fully cooked, with no pink color remaining. Drain the fat from the meat, and then add the ground beef to the stockpot. Simmer for 20 more minutes.
Cook the pasta according to the package directions. Cover the bottom of a 13 by 9 by 2-inch pan with sauce. Add a layer of pasta and then a little less than 1/2 of each cheese repeat the layers, ending with the sauce. Bake in the oven for 30 minutes. Top the casserole with the remaining cheese, return it to the oven, and continue to cook until the cheese is melted and bubbly, about 5 more minutes. Cut into squares before serving.

Just a few simple steps to make this spaghetti bake…
SPAGHETTI. Cook the spaghetti according to the instructions on the package. While it’s cooking, prepare the egg mixture. Drain spaghetti, combine with egg mixture, and place in the bottom of a 9吉 casserole dish.
MEATS. In a large skillet, cook beef, sausage, sugar, oregano and basil over medium heat until meat is cooked. Drain and stir in spaghetti sauce and tomato sauce. Spoon over the spaghetti mixture.
Note: You can find sweet Italian sausage that has many of the same flavor profiles without the spicy red pepper flakes.
How To Make Meatless Baked Spaghetti
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees
- Boil pasta according to package directions, drain
- In a medium-sized bowl, add cooked pasta
- Whisk eggs
- Add shredded Parmesan, garlic, oregano, and parsley to spaghetti and whisked eggs. Mix well.
- Pour spaghetti mixture into prepared baking pan
- Spread cottage cheese on top of spaghetti, top with marinara sauce
- Sprinkle mozzarella cheese on top
- Bake 30 minutes or until set
In a medium-sized bowl, add parmesan cheese and spices to the cooked pasta.
Add whisked eggs to the mixture, then stir.
Add spaghetti mixture to a pan coated with non-stick cooking spray.
Top with cottage cheese then spread to cover the pasta.
Top the cottage cheese with marinara sauce and mozzarella cheese.

- 1 1/2 pounds spaghetti
- 1/2 pound imported Fontina, coarsely shredded (2 cups)
- 1/2 pound mozzarella, coarsely shredded (2 cups)
- 1/2 pound Gruyère, coarsely shredded (2 cups)
- 1/4 pound Gorgonzola dolce, crumbled
- Salt and freshly ground pepper
Preheat the oven to 350°. Lightly butter a 9-by-13-inch baking dish. Cook the spaghetti in a large pot of boiling salted water until al dente. Drain well and spread the spaghetti on a baking sheet let cool.
In a large bowl, toss the Fontina with the mozzarella and Gruyère. Spread one third of the spaghetti in the prepared baking dish in an even layer. Sprinkle 1/3 of the mixed cheeses and half of the Gorgonzola over the spaghetti and season with salt and pepper. Repeat with another layer of spaghetti, mixed cheeses, Gorgonzola and salt and pepper. Top with the remaining spaghetti and mixed cheeses.
Bake the spaghetti in the center of the oven until the top is golden brown, about 40 minutes. Let cool slightly before cutting into squares and serving.

My Meat Sauce is the star of this recipe! I worked really hard at creating it. It blends so well with the other components of this dish. And the best part, it only takes 30 mins to develop the flavor!
I don’t eat pork. So, I use turkey Italian sausage. Can’t tell the difference! Cream cheese AND sour cream in SPAGHETTI. Absolutely! Give it a chance. It makes the spaghetti EXTRA creamy. And don’t worry. You won’t taste it at all.
I don’t believe in dry spaghetti. Therefore, I made sure that we’ll have enough sauce to covered the noodles adequately. Since, this is a casserole, sometimes the pasta can dry out during the baking process. Not with this recipe!
Don’t forget to top it with the fresh basil!
